Refaire un safran

J'ai décidé de faire un petit article pour montrer comment construire un safran en composite. A gauche dans le menu, vous pouvez sélectionner la catégorie "rudder" pour voir mes billets concernant la construction du safran, mais les pages sont en anglais.

Rudder is all done

The rudder is all ready for a final sanding. In the above photo you can see how well the trailing edge turned out (if you remember, I used a waxed wooden gig for this). I thought about taking some pics of the rudder before it gets coated with the gelshield.

Layer 8 of the rudder's other side

I spent this morning at home, adding four more layers of fiberglass to the rudder's starboard site (the other side is done). I am now at 8 layers. Only 4 more remain and it's done!

I also made a carbon fiber frame for the instruments, which I'll show once it is all cut out and ready to install. This is the missing piece that is needed before I can finish the cockpit.
